Peak Power And Body Mass As Indices Of Bone Loading In A Healthy Adult Population

چکیده
Repeated and intentional loading of the skeletal system stimulates an adaptive osteogenic response. Body mass bone strength are strongly associated because increase in body increases on during locomotion. However, effective for adaptation includes dynamic higher load rates, suggesting that a neuromuscular muscle fitness test may be stronger predictor (Rantalainen et al 2010). PURPOSE: To examine whether peak vertical jump power at take-off is more predictive indices (BSIc SSIp) than mass. We hypothesized would appropriate index METHODS: 142 participants (79 F, 63 M) performed maximal test. Peak was calculated from height using Sayer’s equation. Bone compression (BSIc) polar strain (SSIp) were measured peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pQCT) dominant tibia 4% 50% sites respectively. Two hierarchical multiple regression analyses with as dependent variables. In first step age, height, mass, sex entered into model variables, while second step. RESULTS: The correlations between BSIc SSIp (r = 0.643, r 0.711, p < 0.001) those 0.435, 0.658, 0.001). including sex, explained 42% (p variance 58.7% variance. addition to increased explanatory by 7.2% 1.1% SSIp. For BSIc, contributed (i.e. 0.541 vs. -0.102 standardized β-values). contribution decreased 12.9% similar effect 0.257 0.006) 0.213 0.051)). CONCLUSION: power, assessments, better surrogate assessing predicting compared

متن کاملBody mass index and gynecological factors as determinants of bone mass in healthy Moroccan women.
UNLABELLED Several studies have shown that low body mass index (BMI) is associated with low BMD and fractures. However, the results that have been published from studies on reproductive factors and BMD are extremely controversial, with some demonstrating a beneficial effect, while others show a detrimental impact of these factors on bone mass. OBJECTIVE To study the influence of several gynec...

In all medical centers electrocardiography is one of the first steps in the evaluation of patients suspected of heart disease. It is therefore clear that distinguishing normal from pathologic patterns in electrocardiography is of utmost importance. The aim of this descriptive and analytical study was to determine the normal electrocardiographic indices in all leads and to investigate the influe...
متن کاملRelationship between ultrasound bone parameters, lung function, and body mass index in healthy student population.
Low bone mineral density has been reported in paediatric and adult patients with different lung diseases, but limited data are available on the association between lung function and bone density in a healthy young population. We explored the predictors of association between bone mass and pulmonary function in healthy first-year university students, focusing on body mass index (BMI). In this cr...
